This book / plant stand is fabulous! It is very sturdy. The brass metal has discolored some with age. The black metal has no scratches. There is a slight bend in one of the gold bars across the very top, across the top of the middle rack, and at the very bottom of this piece. These bends do not take away from the item at all. Could use a detailed cleaning and polishing, looks good as-is. The top two racks are perfect for books, possibly records and the bottom shelf is perfect for plants!
