They need to repainted, unless you want a shabby chic look. They are very stable. The woven metal baskets detach. Everything that we sell is old and most likely used (unless specifically stated that it is NOS, New Old Stock). We will identify any condition issues that we notice. Items are sent from a smoke free home. We have two dogs but they do not get into our inventory or help us pack up items.
