Arched Top Wicker Planter c1920s. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1920s – 30s True Vintage Arched Top Wicker Planter. Estate fresh and As Found. Great Looking and in Excellent Condition. Arched type wicker planters are much harder to find than the normal simple examples. Its also a bit smaller in size then what you normally see. This is the first time that I have seen an old arched top wicker planter in this size. It measures approx 29″ wide , approx 12-1/2″ deep, and approx 67 tall – weighs approx 18 lbs total weight with the planter box. The planter box is metal , has handles which makes it nice to put in and take out. It measures approx 25-1/2″ long , 9-1/2″ deep, and 7-1/2 tall. The elderly woman that owned this strung a plastic floral decoration on the arched top and also wired on 2 ceramic wall type vases. I will leave on the floral decoration but will not include the little vases nor the bottom board. The floral decoration could easily be removed. I thought it looked nice and left it on. When I got it , she also had a board to fit across the bottom stretchers but I will not include that unless you want it. The planter is strong & sturdy and comes with the original removable galvanized metal planter box. Has some age and character wear but nothing significant. Wear is very light, some general wear or loss to the finish – overall the finish is very nice. A few minor breaks or imperfections to the reed but nothing significant. I have seen hundreds and hundreds of old wicker planters over the years and this one is much better shape than you would normally find. If you live close enough to drive to my location and pick it up yourself or have someone else do it, that is fine with me. If you live in Chicago, I could meet you in Milwaukee, but there would be a mileage charge and it would have to be on a day that works for me. Just something to consider if you fall in love with the planter and live within a 150 – 200 mile radius. Because of the odd size, I would need to special order a box for the packaging. The planter is strong and sturdy and I will order a double wall box to help protect it when it in transit. UPON RECEIVING THE ITEM – ONLY THROW OUT THE BOX AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM AND ARE HAPPY THAT THERE ARE NO DAMAGES. This is a hard to find original early 20th century antique metal stand for a stoneware water cooler (possibly from a school house). Most of the white paint has worn away exposing bare metal that has acquired a coating of surface rust that will rub off if touched. The stand is still solid and sturdy overall with no cracks, repairs, or rust holes anywhere. All three white glass ball feet are intact on the bottom. Total height of the stand is 28″, it measures 18″ across the feet, and the diameter inside the top ring is about 13. It’s about the right size for a 5 gallon water cooler, but because the leg screws stick inward a bit and the hole might be slightly too large depending on the crock, a wooden insert might need to be added to protect the crock from damage. Great, PAIR of iron stands…. That might have been originally for plants…. But as you can see with the addition of a 12 round piece of Marble… They make GREAT pedestals! …. You could display a piece of sculpture on each…. Or a priced plant flanking a doorway. I like pieces like this flanking a doorway with matching lamps… The iron is in such great condition… (almost no rust and it’s very light just on surface) they appear to have never been outside.. They are old Iron… And just in great condition… The age is given away by the style… And the mark “patent pending” on the bottom…. And also on the layers of paint and chips that they have…. I like them just as they are…. Or maybe with another layer of paint… Or they could be stripped and left as just bare iron. They have the “look” just as they are… I showed what they look like with a 12 diameter piece of marble on top of one. Wonderful old American Iron…. With nice old twisted detail and deco style bases…. The triangles that form the bottom are 12″ X 12″ X 12″ and the pieces stand 38″ tall… And the top 3 mounts are set to hold a 12 or slightly larger piece of round marble or glass. This is a vintage folding sewing table from an old hand sewing shoe shop here in Maine (either Dexter or Quoddy Moc I think, but not certain). It has plenty of cracks and aging etc that just adds to its character. It still has the faded marked tape measure on the table too… It measures about 36″ x 19.5″ and is about 25 tall…..
