It has worn off in some areas- refer to the pictures. Overall when you look at it it looks Gold and those places that have worn just blend away. The shelves are removable and they are made out of a pressed cardboard wood. One of them has a couple of nicks towards the back. One is ever so slightly bowed that could easily be pressed out or it would just go down with the weight of putting something on it. It does come apart the legs come out of the midsection and the mirror comes off of the stand. The mirror is in excellent condition and it Swivels.
