Antique Neoclassical Marble Top Gilt Metal 34 Tall Plant Stand Pedestal c. Gorgeous antique Italian Neoclassical-style gilt and black metal stand with beautiful round black marble top, circa 1920. Magnificent black marble top with chunky white and gold veins. Superb tripartite base with each leg comprised of 3 black metal rods raised on a brilliant gilt metal base with flowers and scrolls and impressive stylized acanthus leaf feet. The legs also bear large gilt acanthus leaf detail at top, middle and base. Stand is heavy, strong and sturdy. Magnificent form, proportion and character. Outstanding Italian Neoclassical style stand is an exquisite perch for plants, art and more. Dimensions: Stand measures 33-3/4″ high with a 12″ diameter top. The marble top is 1/2 thick. The base diameter is 11. Condition: In excellent antique condition with light normal wear from age and use. Heavy, strong and sturdy. Some wear to all surfaces including some gilt loss especially near the base. The marble top has a crack from side to side but is hard to see and is affixed tightly to the base. The underside of the feet have some damage and might have had casters at some point. No other issues found. Please review pictures thoroughly for condition.
