1950′s or early 60s mid century modern Atomic wire 4-Tier plant stand. Holds up to 6 planters. Could be used for outdoors or indoors. Shows age w/ paint wear/chips and surface rust. Could easily be repainted or left as is for the Distressed look. Measures approx 26″ 25″ across and 9 deep. Each “shelf”/”box” is approx 8″ deep and between 7″ and 7 1/2 across. This is a hard to find original early 20th century antique metal stand for a stoneware water cooler (possibly from a school house). It has a coating of old black paint, but there is some surface rust showing through and some rust holes near the bottom of two of the feet. There is also a dent on the bottom edge of the small shelf underneath. There are no cracks or repairs anywhere and the stand still feels solid and sturdy overall but could use some restoration because of the holes. The total height of the stand is 27 3/4″, it measures 14″ square at the feet, and the diameter inside the top (the part that holds the crock) is 12 3/4. It’s about the right size for a 5 gallon water cooler, but could be used for a variety of purposes. Not an expert so look closely at pics, I’ll be listing 3 different tables with the same heart shaped tiles which are all old. Rare matching table set. Not sure of origin but many tables with tiles like this are listed as California Taylor Monterey and Catalina names. This base is wood, maybe birch or maple? Guessing it was used as a plant stand or Taboret, lamp, end table or night stand. But could also be called an end, lamp occasional or side table. The tiles are art pottery heart, diamond, and square shaped. They are different shades of brown. I could not find any like these on the net, internet and possibly they are custom made. If I had to guess it’s age I would say 1920s or 30s, same as arts and crafts movement and mission period. Table is 28 1/2″ tall, 20″ wide. Bottom shelf is 16 x 16 and 7 1/2 off the floor. This is a hard to find original early 20th century antique metal stand for a stoneware water cooler (possibly from a school house). Most of the white paint has worn away exposing bare metal that has acquired a coating of surface rust that will rub off if touched. The stand is still solid and sturdy overall with no cracks, repairs, or rust holes anywhere. All three white glass ball feet are intact on the bottom. Total height of the stand is 28″, it measures 18″ across the feet, and the diameter inside the top ring is about 13. It’s about the right size for a 5 gallon water cooler, but because the leg screws stick inward a bit and the hole might be slightly too large depending on the crock, a wooden insert might need to be added to protect the crock from damage.
